Easter IV

This card uses the cross and leaves stamped onto Very Vanilla from Refuge and Strength ©, from 2007. There is a double layer, one stamped in Perfect Plum and one in Elegant Eggplant, mounted on a dry-embossed vellum overlay (P.219, Perfect Details Texturz Plate ®) over Elegant Eggplant cardstock. The vellum and cardstock edges are punched out using the Scallop Edge Border © and Eyelet Border © punches.  The "He is Risen" (P. 48, Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue ® ) is from the current set of the same name, stamped in Versamark ®, then Elegant Eggplant, then heat embossed. The retired 3 Flower Punch and embossed leaf Sizzlet  ®  die are used as accents. The flower centres are a tiny pearls from the Basic Pearls collection (P.198). The label is stamped using the Four Frames  © stamp set, then punched out using the Decorative Label Punch ©.

This next vellum-only card comes from Pat Hosking's Pergamano Cards for All Occasions, from La Riviere Crea Book, 7th Edition, 2001 ( © 1997). I haven't made these types of cards in a very long time and really like the detail, elegance and dry embossing they represent.  The pattern and instructions were followed, but not as detailed as what was provided. I simplified the edges and the cross details, but the remainder of the pattern is as provided. I outlined all the images using a white pencil crayon (I usually use white ink), I dry embossed everything, then cut out the oval and card edges. I then painted the flowers and leaves from the wrong side with Pearlex. I heat embossed "He is Risen" from the Stampin' Up! set of the same name in the oval (which you can't see very well).

This next card is very simple and fast to make, using dry embossing, stamping and punches.  It uses the Textured Impressions Elegant Lines Embossing Folder © (P.219) on Very Vanilla cardstock. The flower/medallion from Mixed Bunch  © (P. 17 Occasions Mini Catalogue ®) is stamped using Pear Pizzaz onto Very Vanilla, then punched out with the Blossom Punch © (P.17 Occasions). The small round is also from the same stamp set, punched out with the 3/4" Round punch. The Antique Brass brad that attaches the 3/4" round is from Metallic  © collection (P.199 IB&C).  "He is Risen" is from the stamp set of the same name.

The last card for today uses the Sale-a-bration ® designer series paper, Everyday Enchantment  © , as its background, mounted on Wild Wasabi cardstock.  Framelits Labels Collection dies are used for the Very Vanilla and Close to Cocoa cardstock cutouts.  "He is not here" is stamped from the Glorious Gift   © stamp set (2007) in Poppy Parade.  The quotation, stamped on Very Vanilla, is sponged using Soft Suede to gain that antiqued look, to match the designer paper.  The flower is made up from the retired Pretties © kit, dyed Poppy Parade, with the leaves dyed Wild Wasabi. The Pearls are from the Basic Pearls collection.

Easter Cards III

This lilies card was influenced by Valita's Calla Lilies card (http://valitasfreshfolds.blogspot.com/). She is such a creative, ingenious artist, and I love all her various punched artwork.  This card uses the Blossom Petal Builder ©(P.213 of the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue, 2011-2012 ®) and coordinating stamp set, Build a Blossom © (P.112). The cardstock used is Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla. The Petals are stamped on Very Vanilla then punched, but the image is rolled inside the flower petal. Once they are rolled, they are watercolored with So Saffron and Daffodil Delight. Some of the leaves are stamped with Certainly Celery, then punched out, along with some plain punched leaves in Celery. They are all painted slightly with Wild Wasabi and Old Olive, for greater definition. The So Saffron paper ribbon is retired, from a previous Saleabration special. Happy Easter is from the retired set, Well Scripted ©. The right edge of the card is dry embossed and cut using Adorning Accents  © .

This dry embossed card, "He is Risen" was influenced by a technique featured on SplitCoastStampers (http://kittiekraft.typepad.com/kittiekraft/color-wash-flowers.html) and uses the retired 3-flower punch and the Flower Garden  © Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The background cardstock is Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi. "He is Risen" is from the current set of the same name.  The flowers are embossed, then watercolored with Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze, Wild Wasabi and Pretty in Pink. The little flowers have watercolored centres (Baja Breeze), then a small pearl added. The greeting is stamped with Versamark and Wild Wasabi, then embossed with clear embossing powder. It is then punched out with the Large Oval punch, then matted with the Scallop Oval. The entire card is spritzed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz®.

This Perfect Plum card, with "Christ is Risen" (Miracle of Easter  © from 2000) is a single layer. The flowers are from the Fifth Avenue © stamp set and are stamped with Black Craft, then embossed with clear embossing powder. The flowers are then "bled" of colour using bleach in an Aquapen ®. They are then painted back in slightly with Elegant Eggplant, then with Interference Violet Pearlex ®, which gives them a bit of a glow. The ribbons used are green organdy (retired) and Lucky Limeade ribbon from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack ®.  The flower centers are emphasized with FlowerSoft®.
